Outpatient Substance Abuse Programs (IOP and OP)

Intensive Outpatient Program or IOP  – is an outpatient substance abuse program that offers services for a minimum of 3 hours of services per day and 3 – 5 days per week of both group therapy and individual sessions with a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in substance abuse treatment  Outpatient Program or OP – is an outpatient program that offers services from 1 – 5 sessions per week (group and/or individual).

These programs’ services can be tailored to specific client needs. Clients in IOP are tested anywhere from 1 – 3 times per week, depending on the client’s individualized treatment plan. Clients in OP are also randomly tested, also depending on the client’s individualized treatment plan.  IOP and OP programs are a wonderful extension of treatment for those clients who have recently been discharged from a detoxification (or detox) program and/or inpatient residential treatment program. In addition, IOP can also be a great option for those clients struggling with substance abuse but do not need or cannot go inpatient for residential treatment. The OP program is a great option for those clients who must continue to work and need treatment in order to prevent going inpatient or for those clients who need to continue with individual therapy after completing inpatient or residential treatment and need follow-up or aftercare treatment.

Our substance abuse programs are set up to teach a variety of skills, including, but not limited to relapse prevention, emotional regulation, impulse control, community support system development, distress tolerance, family of origin/childhood issues and problem solving skills. In order to accomplish the development of these skills we utilize a number of treatment approaches including, but not limited to Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, 12-Step Program and psycho-education. This service can be made available at all locations.
